How to Perform the Sots Press with a Kettlebell

What is the Sots Press?

The kettlebell Sots press is one of the greatest core strength builders that incorporates both the legs and shoulder. This exercise will enable you to endure the most stressful positions you can ever find yourself in, thereby making it one of the most functional movements out there!

You don’t need a heavy weight to gain the benefits of the Sots Press which is named after Russian weightlifting champ, Viktor Sots.

If you have problems with the Sots press, start with Overhead Squats and Seated Military Press on the ground to build up.

How to Do the Sots Press Kettlebell Exercise

Step 1: Clean a single kettlebell into the rack position.

Step 2: Keep your back straight and squat down as low as possible.

Step 3: While in the bottom position, keep your core tight and press the kettlebell overhead.

Step 4: Lower the kettlebell and repeat. Stand up and switch sides.
